PART 1(B); Drought struck towns and farms. Farms couldn't grow so they couldn't sell, so, not only did they go hungry, so did their animals and buyers. For any food at all, they were forced to kill their animals, so in time, they would run out of food. And the animals couldn't last that long because they could not be fed.

This picture is here to show the stuggle of everyone because the bad economy 2. People are missing from this image. 3. If somebody took this picture today, it would probably be open and there would be people. OBSERVATIONS 1. I see people in front of a grocery store. 2.The men in the picture seem wealthy. 3. Once again it seems like a very hot day. REFLECTIONS 1. They trade here. 2. This picture is made to show how trade was very important during the great depression. 3.if someone made this today, it would probably not be as pact.
OBSERVATIONS 1. Two african americans walking barefoot down a long country road. 2. Still a very dry climate. 3. The woman in front seem, to have back problems. REFLECTION 1. This image was made to show that african americans were very poor. 2. People in this time period do not care much for african americans. 3. If someone made this today, they would probably have a car or a bike or at least shoes.

All of these people are very hardworking. They did anything and everything in their power for money. Chris Thorsten was an Iron worker. He says that you're not an iron worker unless you get hurt. He was "Squeezed between a crane." He broke a collar bone, all his ribs, and three vertebrae. He was in recovery for four years. This was his job. Jim cole was a packing house worker. He was a butcher. He says it takes a lot of skill to do what he does. He tried to work for the union. They wouldn't take him because of the color of his skin. He needed the money. All these people struggled intensely.
